AZKALS ON: Got Deals Brings Azkals Premium Mobile Content to Fans
March 16, 2014 – Got Deals Mobile Inc. launched the Azkals Mobile Service at the Copper function room of the F1 Hotel in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.
Fans of the Philippine National Football team can now get even closer to their favorite Azkals by simply texting AZKALS ON to 2626 for Globe and 2263 for Smart & Sun. The mobile service, an initiative by Got Deals, is a subscription service that features premium football-related content.
“We want to cater to the people who don’t have smartphones,” said Jay Adevoso, managing partner of Got Deals, a premier distributor of mobile entertainment products and services.
Head coach Thomas Dooley agreed, “One of the problems we have is that our fans don’t know when our games are.” He hopes that with this mobile service, fans can know ahead the “full schedule of our games” and be there to help cheer the team on.
For only P10/day, subscribers get updates on the Azkals’ game and event schedules, photos of their private training sessions, and even downloadable exclusive images or videos from Azkals members themselves. Plus, a percentage of the mobile service revenue will be donated to the Azkals team to help them fund their bid in the 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.
“It’s a great opportunity for us to get a little bit of money on the side to help us in our campaign in the World Cup,” shares coach Dooley.
The mobile subscription service is the second fundraising activity created for the national football team. The first one, ‘Small Change, Big Change’ is a campaign initiated by fans, wherein donation cans are set up at various grocery stores to encourage shoppers to donate their small change to help the Azkals buffer the expenses of training and competing internationally.
“The ultimate goal is to be part of the World Cup,” says team manager Dan Palami. With everyone’s help, we’re pretty sure they will.
