What’s all the fuss about APEC? well even if you played a blind eye.. it will affect you now and the future! The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders Meeting (AELM) will be held in Manila from November 18 to 19, 2015, thats why! To minimize inconvenience to residents, the government earlier announced the dates as special non-working days.
Special non-working days means.. keep off the road! 🙂 Only travel if needed since traffic may be living hell on earth during these periods. Rerouting schemes will be put in place within Metro Manila. Driving motorists and the commuting public are advised to plan their trips wisely and avoid delays because APEC leaders travelling during this period will be given high priority.
During the APEC 2015 Leader’s Week, The Stop and Go Scheme will be adopted, from November 15-20, a stop-and-go scheme along parts of EDSA, Roxas Boulevard, Skyway,SLEX and roads around NAIA will be implemented. What does this mean for motorists and commuters? Whenever Economic Leaders and Dignitaries pass by these areas, ALL TRAFFIC WILL BE STOPPED. Traffic will resume once the Dignitaries have gone through.

UPDATE: Mabuhay Lanes, Christmas Lanes, #ApecSummit Alternate Routes to Avoid Traffic in Metro Manila
During APEC 2015, it is strongly advised that you plan your trips ahead and know that security will be tight at all NAIA Terminals on November 17, 19 and 20. Please avoid these areas and surrounding places. A NO-FLY-ZONE over area will also be in place during these dates.
APEC TRUCK BAN: From November 16 to 20, a daytime truck ban will be implemented on the South Truck Route. Trucks can only use the roads from 10:00PM to 6:am. It is very important that you schedule important deliveries before hand.
Also from November 16-20, a 24-hour truck ban will be imposed on Roxas Boulevard, this can be detrimental to your business so please consider delivery schedules so that your supply chain doesnt get broken and you lose sales. If delivery of goods is your priority, this should be on top of your list to work around.
What about EDSA?
APEC Lanes along EDSA will be implemented from Nov. 16 to 20 only APEC Vehicles are allowed to use the innermost lanes of EDSA. (seen below) This means 2 lanes will be allocated to APEC lanes and leave 1 lane for motorists and two Bus lanes for commuters. Please be guided accordingly.
ROAD CLOSURE: The following roads around Mall of Asia Arena ( MOA Arena) will be closed starting 6am on November 18. (See Below) Security will also be high in these locations so please adjust your trips and schedule them on other times to avoid inconvenience of getting stuck in traffic.

APEC ALTERNATE ROUTES: Traffic plan will be implemented for Mall of Asia, its tenants and visitors starting november 18, 2015 at 6:00AM Road will be tight so try and schedule non urgent activities on other days to avoid the hassles. Diosdado Macapagal is passable but you will have to follow map below and have to deal with everyone else on the road trying to reach their destination and having to avoid all the alternate rerouting.. in short.. it maybe better to stay home.. thats why it was declared a special non-working holiday in the first place!
MORE ROAD CLOSURE: The Following roads will be closed around the CCP Complex Area from November 16-20, 2015. BE SMART and avoid these roads.
- Bukaneg Street
- Vicente Sotto Street
